who do you think you are

i have a front-page calendar review of the spice girls' staples center show in the l.a. times today. (there they are above, in a live shot by times photog barbara davidson.)

unfortunately, an error was inserted into the copy right before press time. the sentence that reads:

A decade later these grown-up girls, thinner and more plastic than ever, reflect how that notion has been taken to the 21st century extremes of nip, tuck and Botox for everyone.

SHOULD say:

A decade later these grown-up girls, thinner and more plastic than ever, reflect how that notion has been taken to the 21st-century extremes of boob jobs and Botox for everyone.

apparently, you can't say "boob job." but their "solution" ruined the joke, not to mention the point.

interestingly, you can sling the word "slut" around with impunity. go figure.
