in my citybeat column this week, i ruminate on the passing of evel knievel.

on wednesday the l.a. times published my review of carbon/silicon, the latest project from clash guitarist mick jones and his mate tony james of generation x and sigue sigue sputnik.

i forgot to mention a couple of older CB pieces: my interview with graphic novelist adrian tomine (pronounced TOE-mi-nay -- hi, anthony!), which was on the cover of the recent books issue. plus, a column i wrote celebrating the comic strip for better or for worse, of which i have long been enamored. and another one complaining about how crappy major network genre tv is this season.
