check out these cool tchotchkes -- well, actually, they are kind of expensive to be called tchotchkes -- for the white stripes' new album, icky thump (which came out tuesday). they are USB flash drives in the shape of jack and meg white; the hat comes off, and you plug it in and play the album on your computer. each one costs $57.50 -- the pair is a steal for only $99.

the doc informs that the lancashire slang term the album title plays off of -- "ecky-thump" -- has no known exact meaning. apparently it is an expression of surprise. sooo ... ecky-thump! that's some expensive collectible gadgetry. but they are rather gorgeous.
